When Tinkerer tries to turn the Nuform Reactor into a bomb, she isn’t quite sure it’s unstable. However, Miles absorbs the energy. As he’s about to explode, Tinkerer realizes she’s made a mistake and soars into the sky with him, allowing Miles to explode in an explosion that kills her. However, given the mysterious nature of Nuform energy and the way Tinkerer’s dead brother Rick tried to turn it into a clean energy source, the game can easily use its nature to open a rift.

Rick never knew the energy would get dirty and deadly, after all, so this could be a loose version of the super collider from Into the Spider-Verse, where Kingpin attempted to get his family back using alternate realities. This reactor opened cracks to parallel universes, so this explosion could easily be turned into an uncontrolled collision of energy particles. This is a relatively simple way to open the multiverse, which has already been addressed in this world thanks to the Spider-Geddon Event.

There, Superior Spider-Man / Doc Ock and the Web Warriors used rift technology, with Peter of this world (from Earth-1048) leaving Miles of the game behind to take care of New York. He knows other Spider-Men are there, which he told Miles about. With the portal open, there are opportunities for forays into the 1048 realm.

These could include future side stories, DLC content, upgrades, and in-game partnerships. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe looking to dissect the Multiverse, there could be a cinematic cross-promotion with the arrival of Spidey. from Tom Holland, or Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, the cartoon version of the 90s and many more. Everything Sony and Marvel haven’t done in the Spider-Verse The movie could be made here, and it would allow villains from other realities and movies to enter as well – not to mention the Heirs if they want revenge.

This is great fan service as the game touches many eras of fans. And while it’s great to play as 1048’s Peter or Miles, there are so many other wall crawlers out there that it would be a waste not to include them with their different attitudes and fighting styles. The Insomiac New York version already offers a whole different dynamic for an unpredictable but perfect setting for the new Spideys. Conversely, Miles could go to someone else’s world. After all, it’s all about possibility, and the Spider-Verse is always full of it.

Developed by Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is now available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
