The Washington football team destroyed the Dallas Cowboys 41-16 on Thanksgiving Day, which is always fun. What was even nicer was that WFT’s offensive coordinator Scott Turner launched a deception during the game that was inspired by the classic cult movie, Little giants, with Rick Moranis and Ed O’Neill. I’m serious.
While the play didn’t result in a touchdown, it did give Washington a first try and the respect of everyone watching at home on TV.
Video
You have to watch closely, but WFT quarterback Alex Smith receives the ball from the center and then places it between JD McKissic’s legs. Smith runs to the right side of the field while McKissic runs in the opposite direction.

After the match, Rivera confirmed that the play was based on the 1994 film and that he probably watched the movies “100 times” because of his children.
Ron Rivera testified that the game of “fumblerooski” they played at the start of the match was actually from the movie “Little Giants” and that this game was called “Annexation of Puerto Rico”.

Rivera said, yes it was the Little Giants’ annexation of the Puerto Rico game… Winked at Bum Phillips and said they called him the Bumarooski. Rivera said he probably watched this movie “100 times” because his kids loved it so much.

It wasn’t the first time Rivera had led the fumblerooksi, either. In his first year as head coach of the Carolina Panthers, the team scored a touchdown against Houston with the game.

With the win, WFT rose to first place in an unbelievably terrible NFC East.

Alex Smith is the only quarterback since Joe Gibbs’ retirement to have a winning record.
Alex Smith is now 8-5 in his career as a starter in Washington.
Since HOF Joe Gibbs retired in 2008, Smith is the only Washington QB to have a winning record.
