Miley Cyrus delivered an emotional eulogy at the end The voice Candidate Janice Freeman at a commemorative ceremony Monday at Mariners Church in Irvine, California.
Freeman died suddenly on March 2nd at age 33. His representatives said that the cause of his death was an "extreme case of pneumonia and blood clot that was spreading in his heart".

Cyrus then explained how she had learned to work with Freeman and the relationship they had established.

After Freeman's death, Cyrus, 26, shared a picture of a rainbow on Instagram. "Thank you, Janice Freeman … for everything, that's perfect for you," she wrote.
Cyrus also promised to help Freeman's family in an emotional tweet on March 4th.
"To hug you again, @janice_freeman … I've made a promise here on earth and I'll hold it as you look at it from heaven. Take care of your precious little girl , my little sister, "she wrote. "To shed light on your husband and your mother when the days are dark! I love you."
Freeman and Cyrus have built a strong relationship outside the show. Last year, Freeman announced on Instagram that Cyrus had helped her financially when she was looking for a new home.

Cyrus was not the only member of The voice family to remember Freeman. NBC released an in memoriam card after the first episode following Freeman's death.
