In the movie Late at nightMindy Kaling plays Molly Patel, a woman who gets her big break in writer Katherine Newbury's writers room. Newbury, played by Emma Thompson, is on the ice with the network and wants to add Molly to diversify her very white and very masculine writing staff. But once Molly has arrived, she finds being considered a diverse hiring presents unique challenges. Late at night also features John Lithgow, Denis O'Hare and Reid Scott.
