Originally scheduled to play on Thursday, the Minot boys’ tennis team finally faced the Demons of Bismarck at Tom O’Leary on Friday afternoon. The end result was a resounding success for the mages.

Not only did Minot win by a final tally of 9-0, but the Magicians took back-to-back wins at nine positions. In the No.1 singles, Zach Diehl took care of business against Tyler Wahl 6-2, 6-2. At No.2 Aidan Diehl beat Adam Vasichek 6-1, 6-0, and Grayson Schaeffer passed Isaiah Koch without losing a third-place match 6-0, 6-0.

Afterwards, Minot’s head tennis coach Scott DeLorme expressed his approval of the club’s dominant performance.

“We went to Bismarck on a makeup appointment yesterday and had a very solid team effort not dropping a set,” DeLorme told the Minot Daily News. “We quickly took a 6-0 lead by sweeping away the singles before going 3-0 in the doubles. I was very happy with our focus from the start and it continued throughout the evening.

Next, Minot plans to return home to face the Williston Coyotes at Hammond Park on Tuesday. The non-conference match will be played in a 4-3 format and is set for a start time of 4:15 p.m.
