67 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Butler County on Monday.
This comes with 126 negative test results, giving the report a 34.7% positivity rate.
On Monday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital is treating 26 patients for the coronavirus, which is an increase of four from Friday’s local report. Four people are currently in intensive care.
Butler Health System reported two deaths to the state on Saturday and two more on Sunday. BHS confirms the highest local incidence of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, with the virus actively spreading through the Butler community.
Last weekend, 206 new cases were recorded in the county.
The State Department of Health has reported 6,311 new cases in the past two days. There were four additional deaths reported today.
Hospitalizations are also increasing statewide. There were 500 other patients hospitalized in Pennsylvania last week.
Butler Health System asks everyone to help reduce the risk of infection by:
o Avoid big events and mass gatherings.
o Avoid close contact (less than 6 feet) with anyone who is sick or showing symptoms.
o Be very careful that school-age and university-aged children are surrounded by family members who otherwise avoid contact with others.
o Always cover your mouth and nose in public areas. Wash hands frequently. Don’t touch the face. Cover the coughs and sneezes. Maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from others. Practice good hygiene.
o Anyone who feels sick should stay home.
