This mother-daughter bond is on another plane!

Passengers from a Delta flight departing from Los Angeles International Airport last weekend were stunned to learn that they were in the hands of a team of family pilot, Captain Wendy Rexon and her first officer daughter, Kelly Rexon.

After a traveler took a picture of the couple in the cockpit of the plane bound for Atlanta, the duo quickly made waves on Twitter with over 16,000 retweets.

"We just flew from LAX to ATL on Delta driven by this mother daughter's flight crew," passenger Dr. John R. Watret tweeted. "Great flight. Inspire for young women. "

Watret – Chancellor of Embry – Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida – learned of the family bond that united the crew after a woman on board asked a flight attendant if her two children could visit the pilots.

He said he heard the family talking about the "mother and daughter" flying the plane, according to a university statement.

"I thought it was unbelievable. I was impressed, "said Watret. "I asked if I could visit them too."

That's when he learned that aviation had deeper roots in the Rexon family. Wendy's father is a retired pilot while her husband is flying for American Airlines. Their other daughter, Kate, is also a pilot.

"The first officer had an excellent model for becoming a pilot – his mother," said Watret. "It's good for aviation and inspiring for all of us."
