The Midland County Sheriff’s Office said a Gladwin County motorcyclist died in an accident in Midland County.

MPs say that on Monday, September 27 at around 7:38 p.m., they responded and investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Eastman Road and East Schneider Court in Larkin Township.

MPs say their investigation indicated a brown 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jason Gransden, 44, of Gladwin County, was heading north on North Eastman Road while a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a man from 29 year old from Midland County was heading south. .

They say the driver of the Silverado did not give way to Gransden’s motorbike while attempting to turn left into a private parking lot outside Gransden. MPs say the Silverado was struck on the front passenger side by the motorcycle.

MPs say Gransden was thrown from his motorcycle and was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The frontal airbag deployed in the Silverado.

Gransden was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. He died on Sunday from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Silverado was not injured.

Currently, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting toxicology reports to determine if alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident, as is standard procedure.

They say the report will be forwarded to the Midland County District Attorney’s Office for review once it is completed.
