WHEELING – A man from Wheeling was arraigned on Saturday for murder following a death discovered at Mozart on Friday.

William Ross Carman, 35, appeared before magistrate Janine Varner. Varner has brought him to justice for murder and he will continue to be held without bail at the North Regional Prison.

Carman was arrested and charged on Friday with one count of murder in the death of Anorah Charlene Schostag, 41, of Wheeling, according to the Wheeling Police Department.

Wheeling Police Department spokesman Philip Stahl said officers were called to Mozart’s neighborhood around 2 p.m. to investigate suspicious circumstances.

In addition to Wheeling Police, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia State Police also responded to the scene.

North Frazier Avenue was blocked from traffic as officers investigated the scene. Police vehicles from the three agencies occupied most of the road in front of the house where the homicide took place.
