An MRI Thursday confirmed that Portland Trail Blazers striker Maurice Harkless had a sprained right ankle. He is listed as questionable for Friday's third game against the Denver Nuggets.

Harkless had the MRI after spraining him in the 97-90 win, second game of the Blazers on Wednesday.

Harkless, who has played 53 of his 60 games in the regular season and seven playoff games in Portland, was injured after landing on the foot of teammate Zach Collins in the middle of the second quarter.

He was unable to return because the Blazers kept even the best run at seven.

After the match, Harkless told reporters that he was day-to-day and uncertain for the third game in Portland. Jake Layman, who started when Harkless had a knee injury in the regular season, was called to start the second half on Wednesday.

However, during a conference call Thursday before the MRI results were known, Blazers coach Terry Stotts said the reserves of Rodney Hood (who had 15 points in the second match), Seth Curry and Evan Turner are also options if Harkless is unable to play.

"We will talk about it [Friday] as a coach, "said Stotts.
