Munson Healthcare announced a two-step approach to requirements on Tuesday for all personnel vendors.
All new employees and volunteers hired after September 30, 2021 must be vaccinated.
Current staff, contractors, contractors and students must be vaccinated by January 7, 2022.
Munson Healthcare says the mandate is consistent with its message throughout the pandemic.
“We believe COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective,” said Dianne Michalek, director of marketing and communications, Munson Healthcare. “We also believe they are the most powerful tool we have to end the pandemic and keep others out of the hospital and keep working.”
Munson reports that about 70% of its workforce is vaccinated.
The vaccination obligation does not apply to 100% remote workers.
Employees who have a religious or medical reason for not getting the vaccine have until November to apply for an exemption.
