Obsidian has confirmed that Murder on Eridanos, the second expansion for The Outer Worlds sci-fi adventure, will arrive on PC, Xbox and PlayStation next Wednesday, March 17.

The Murder on Eridanos, which follows last year’s Peril on Gorgon expansion, gives players the task of uncovering the murderer of famous actress Halcyon Helen, an investigation that takes them all through a seaside resort of luxury of drifting islands caught in a perpetual storm.

There are clues to be found using the new Discrepancy Amplifier tool, alibis to scrutinize, and witnesses to question – including some of the biggest stars on the planet – and Obsidian is keeping the action based on choosing to. The Outer Worlds by offering players a wide range of options when it comes to identifying the culprit.

“Are you falsely accusing an innocent bystander?” Asks the developer on the PlayStation blog. “Are you presenting a mediocre case with a lack of evidence? How will others react? What if you try to convince people that you are somehow responsible for the murder?”

Expect to discover new perks and flaws, new science weapons, new armor variations, and an assortment of new quests as Murder on Eridanos unfolds.

Murder on Eridanos will be available for purchase individually (likely for around £ 12 if the cost of Peril on Gorgon is any indication) or as part of The Outer Worlds’ £ 20 expansion pass when it launches next Wednesday, March 17, on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
