My Morning Jacket has announced a new self-titled album: My morning jacket releases October 22 via ATO. The band also shared a track from the project and revealed the album artwork by Robert Beatty. Watch the video from “Regularly Scheduled Programming” below, co-produced by Jim James and George Mays.

“This song really touches me after what we’ve been through with the pandemic,” James said of the new song in a statement. “But even before that, I felt like a lot of us were trading real life for social media, trading our own stories for TV intrigue, trading our conscience for drugs. We need to help each other wake up to true love before it’s too late.

Last year My Morning Jacket released The waterfall II, their first album in five years and a companion of 2015 The waterfall. They plan to tour the United States, starting with North Carolina, at the end of August, joined by Brittany Howard, Flock of Dimes, Durand Jones & the Indications and Bedouine at various stops.
