Update: We have new images of lasers connected to Lake Runes Moons. The sounds and images are truly breathtaking.

Here are the new images captured in the game, using the Playground game mode with most of the HUD details disabled.

The goal is to eventually connect the three lasers to Loot Lakes at the same time. This can be achieved by players hitting lasers with picks in the same report. Only the green laser has been connected so far.

New Rune lasers have appeared on the entire Fortnite map and project beams of light to Loot Lake. What do these strange objects do in Fortnite?

The mystery of Lake Loot's vault seems to be getting deeper every day. Epic Games has added new "lasers" to the Fortnite map, which project beams of light.

What are these new strange objects and why have they arrived now? Could the opening of the vault be closer than we think?

Lasers appear throughout the fortnite card

These lasers project beams of colored light in different directions. Lasers rest on runes at the top of places.

The most common are found on the volcano, north of Pleasant Park on a mountain and south of Shift Shafts.

It is extremely important to note that lasers change direction while you are at stake. This may be part of a global event for Fortnite.

The rune floating above Lake Loot also has a color that emits from the top. The color above Loot Lake changes relative to the laser from which you are. For example, if you look at Loot Lake from the volcano, you will see a green light emitting from it.

The light on Loot Lake appears white when you stand near the white laser

Here are the colors for lasers:

  • Laser Volcano: Green
  • Pleasant Park Laser: White
  • Shifty Shafts: Red

All lasers can be "damaged" by hitting them with a pickaxe to deal 50 damage to the shield per hit. When lasers approach the center of Lake Loot, they begin to emit a much brighter light beam. Their sound effects also intensify considerably as the beam approaches Lake Loot.

The sounds of the laser that connects and disconnects from the Loot Lake rune can be heard all over the map. It sounds like thunderclaps and energy losses.

It is not known yet whether the players' actions change the direction of the beams or how they would do it.

Potentially, lasers can align and unlock safe runes by letting enough players discover and hit them at the same time.

As the beams approach the rune of Loot Lake, they bend and settle on the rune. The Rune starts to shine, maybe all three beams need to be connected to unlock the Vault in part?

We will update this article as we learn more about these mysterious beams of light.
