On August 29, 2018, ISS astronauts woke up to discover that a leak on the space station was causing him to lose oxygen. Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Roscosmos, revealed that an investigation had determined the layout of the two millimeter hole – but that the space agency was not giving up its secrets.
Mr Rogozin said at a scientific conference for young people: "The hole was in the housing of the capsule, it has long burned during his reinstatement. We took all the samples.
"We know exactly what happened, but we will not tell you anything.
"We need to keep some kind of secret."
NASA is now demanding answers from its Russian counterparts, warning that if the news is not published, relations between the United States and Russia could go a long way back.
Jim Bridenstine, director of NASA, told the Houston Chronicle: "They did not say anything to me.

Mr. Rogozin also said at about the time that it was difficult for both agencies to work together.
The Russian space chief said: "Problems with NASA, of course, have appeared, but not by NASA's fault, but by the fault of those American circles outside of NASA."
Mr Rogozin added that the US Space Agency was dealing with the external pressure exerted by "rabid Russophobes".
