A 23-year-old woman was arrested on Monday after allegedly throwing her newborn baby in a latrine in Okahandja
Namibian police spokeswoman in the Otjozondjupa region, Maureen Mbeha, said at Nampa
The suspect reportedly gave birth to the healthy little boy and threw him into a pit latrine in the No.1 informal housing area of Oshetu, in the residential area of Nau -Aib, in the early hours of Monday.
"The baby was saved by neighbors who heard him cry," says Mbeha
The baby and his mother were both admitted to the public hospital of Okahandja and are in a stable state.
She should appear in the court of Okahandja once she will be released from the hospital
