For years, A's have tried to build a new stadium. They almost moved to Fremont in the mid-2000s, then to San Jose and, at one point, in the late 1970s, New Orleans.
But over the past two years, team president Dave Kaval has promised to keep his team #RootedInOakland and build a new space and vision right in the city. the legendary story and fervent fanbase were far too important. And on Wednesday, these new baseball plans finally resulted:

The complex would be located at the Howard Terminal, Oakland Inner Harbor (10 minutes from the Coliseum), and could accommodate 34,000 people. About 6,000 people at a time could be transported to their seats gondolas (!!) As the Press release the seats will be "arranged in the configuration as close as possible to the marble, as well as an elevated park which envelops and frames the basin, descending to face the water's edge".

There are also preliminary plans to include green spaces off the real estate – putting the "park back into the stadium". This area would be open year-round and include new housing, affordable housing, restaurants, and more. Kaval hopes that this type of installation will clear the boundaries between stadium and grounds located just outside the stadium, thus allowing new bars and institutions to serve as a theoretical lobby.

The site of the former Coliseum – which houses four of the nine titles of the World Series franchise and the latest mixed-baseball / football stadium – will be redeveloped into a public park. It will also include the retail, accommodation and rebuilding of the original Coliseum diamond. For baseball and I hope maybe, gladiator fights.

The opening day is scheduled for 2023 (waiting for one Howard Environmental Review and Lease Agreement with the Port of Oakland). From here, Kyler "Bo Jackson" Murray will throw fast balls and will be 35 years old Khris Davis will launch dingers deep into the water beyond the left field wall:
