The AMG GT R PRO has been modified in many details to offer even more performance: "Lightweight construction, new suspensions and aerodynamic settings further optimize overall support. Lightweight wheels also contribute to improved driving dynamics and faster lap times on the track.

"The AMG GT embodies the heart of our brand," Driving Performance, "in a unique way that, in its early days four years ago, not only appealed to customers and car enthusiasts alike. but we have also created new dimensions in a competitive environment, and to build on this momentum, we have added many innovations to the AMG GT 4-door coupe and added a new limited edition model: no other production current Mercedes-AMG is as close to motorsport as the new AMG GT R PRO: A great experience of the current activities of motorsport GT3 and GT4 has entered its development.

Agile responses to all pilot controls and overall performance now add even more the incomparable feeling that our racing drivers feel on the track, "said Tobias Moers, chairman of the board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

As in the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé, the new telematic architecture of two-door AMG GT models makes it possible to display the fully innovative standard digital instrument with a 12.3-inch dashboard and 10-inch multimedia display. , 25 inches on the center console. The instrument cluster offers a brand new screen design with the three display styles specific to AMG "Classic", "Sports" or "Supersport". In "Supersport" mode, a lot of additional information specific to AMG is also available. The new visualizations in the multimedia display make it possible to take the other functions of the vehicle even more vividly, for example with an animated presentation of the assistance systems. driving, vehicle and communication.

Via the left-hand touch control button on the steering wheel, favorite information can also be displayed on the left or right side of the dashboard – for example the standard speedometer and rev counter, navigation information or support systems up to the detailed engine. The data. Sporty drivers can even display a g-force display or current output and torque values.

The center console, with its stylish V8 design, is particularly attractive on the inside. It not only highlights the brand's performance benchmarks, but also perfectly meets the functional requirements. The 2-door AMG GT also receives innovative and colorful display buttons. They incorporate the display and direction of transmission logistics, chassis, ESP, exhaust system, rear spoiler and on / off function. Using TFT technology, the display buttons use intuitive symbols to show the function and are easy to use with just a quick tap. The display buttons are complemented by two toggle switches for driving programs and volume control.

The AMG GT two-door will also receive the new AMG performance steering wheel, which debuted in the four-door AMG GT coupe and is also available in the C 63. It is characterized by its sporty design, a lower flattened with Highly contoured rim and intuitive use. The black Nappa leather cover is perforated on the sides to ensure optimal grip.

On the AMG GT C, the steering wheel is fitted as standard with a black nappa leather / DINAMICA microfibre rim. On the AMG GT R, the rim is completely covered with DINAMICA microfibre. The AMG steering wheel is also available in black Nappa leather with a glossy black piano trim and DINAMICA microfibre with high gloss carbon fiber elements. Galvanized shift paddles on the steering wheel allow even sportier driving with manual gearshift.

The integrated touch control buttons can be used to control the functions of the digital dashboard and the multimedia display by means of a horizontal and vertical scan of the finger.

All AMG GT 2-door models come standard with the new AMG steering wheel buttons. These consist of a round controller with integrated display under the right steering wheel radius, as well as two color display buttons positioned vertically with switches located under the left steering wheel radius.

AMG training programs can be triggered via the controller. The selected setting is displayed on the color LCD directly integrated into the controller.

The two freely configurable display buttons and the additional switches on the left side allow you to control other AMG functions directly on the steering wheel. This means that the driver can fully concentrate on dynamic driving without having to let go of the steering wheel. Each required function can be illustrated on the display icon and its switch is operated by the driver to define the corresponding function.

The two individually specified AMG functions can be precisely defined and the parameters changed at the touch of a finger.

The AMG TRACK PACE virtual race engineer, who records data while driving on closed-circuit tracks, provides a much wider range of functions and even more accurate. AMG TRACK PACE is a standard part of the COMAND online infotainment system.

Once activated, when driving on a race track, more than 80 sets of vehicle-specific data (for example, speed, acceleration) are recorded ten times per second. In addition, lap and sector times are displayed, as well as the respective difference from a reference time. Since specific display elements are displayed in green or red, the driver can see at a glance without reading the numbers if they are currently faster or slower only the best time.

After making fast laps, the driver can use the data to analyze and, if necessary, improve his driving skills. In addition, the acceleration and deceleration values can be measured and saved. Thanks to a new algorithm that determines the position of the vehicle as accurately as possible, AMG TRACK PACE detects even when the lane has been left or has been shortened. To do this, you use the GPS data as well as the sensors available in the vehicle (acceleration, gyro, steering angle, wheel speed).

The data is displayed on the multimedia screen and on the digital dashboard. Well-known race tracks, such as the Nürburgring or the Spa Francorchamps, are already stocked. In addition, it is also possible to record your own tracks.

The new high-performance LED lighting controls now show parallels with the AMG GT 4-door coupe and further improve the connection of the AMG GT family. A trifunctional arched light guide assumes the functions of daytime running lights, navigation lights and turn signals.

The multi-chamber reflector system with three individual reflectors for the low beam and main beam not only ensures optimal pavement illumination, but also gives the AMG GT a sporty and dynamic appearance that further enhances the optical depth thanks to the black background. The LED taillights also appear deeper and sportier through the dark background.

At the rear, the new look of the rear bumper is striking. Its sporty black diffuser insert has been redesigned for the AMG GT and AMG GT C models. At the same time, the outlet of the exhaust pipe has been redesigned visually and adapted to the shape of the AMG GT 4- door cup. The AMG GT now has two dual round outputs, while the AMG GT C has dual trapezoidal outputs. The rear design of the AMG GT R retains its distinctive shape with the large center-mounted exhaust outlet with center bar. It is flanked by two other black exhaust outlets on the left and right of the diffuser.

The AMG GT receives a new black grain threshold cover on the lower part. This creates an additional dynamic optical appearance. Used in combination with the optional outer package, additional elements of decorative elements emphasize these features.

In addition, if you wish, the AMG GT is available with a new Y-wheel in titanium gray light alloy with a finely polished surface. In addition, the AMG GT C is available as an option with the new 10-spoke forged wheels in titanium gray with finely polished surfaces or in soft black with a finely polished rim flange.

A new standard feature is the PARKTRONIC parking assistant parking package and the front and rear cameras, which increases ease of use when maneuvering. Another sign of the AMG GT family connection is the new bright blue magno paint for the AMG GT 2-door, color that will be introduced with the AMG GT 4-door coupe. Other fittings are two-tone leather in an exclusive pearl silver / black nappa style.

New in the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT "Sliding", "Comfort", "Sport", "Sport Plus", "RACE" and "Individual" driving programs, the AMG GT 2-Door is now delivered with AMG DYNAMICS. This integrated driving dynamics control extends the functions of the ESP® (electronic stability program) for an exact distribution of power distribution on the rear axles and steering characteristics.

In this way, the AMG GT becomes even more agile. AMG DYNAMICS optimizes transverse dynamics through increased lateral acceleration, better traction and load change reactions.

Particularly noteworthy: AMG DYNAMICS calculates the reaction of the vehicle. To do this, the system uses available sensors that detect the speed, steering angle or yaw rate, for example. On the basis of the pilot control principle, it is possible to anticipate the behavior of the vehicle according to the actions of the driver and the sensor data. The control system reacts in this way even before the driver – and without significant intervention of the system. The driver gets a very authentic driving feel with high cornering dynamics, optimum traction as well as high stability and predictable handling. Even experienced drivers receive optimal support without feeling supported by the system.

The different AMG DYNAMICS modes are named "Basic", "Advanced", "Pro" and "Master". Selecting the driving program shown on the multimedia display now displays the new AMG DYNAMICS symbol with the appropriate additional term instead of the previous ESP symbol.

"Basic" is assigned to the "Sliding" and "Comfort" driving programs. The AMG GT presents exceptionally stable handling characteristics with high yaw damping.

"Advanced" is activated in the "Sport" program. The AMG GT is then balanced in a neutral way. The lower yaw damping, turning angle requirements and increased agility facilitate dynamic maneuvers such as driving on winding country roads.

"Pro" (abbreviation of "professional") is part of the "Sport +" program. In "Pro", the driver receives even more assistance for dynamic maneuvers, while agility and accuracy are further improved during cornering.

"Master" (available only for GT C and GT R) is connected to the RACE driving program. The "Master" mode is intended for drivers who want to experience the dynamism and pleasure of driving on closed circuits. "Master" offers an extremely neutral balance, a low steering angle and a more agile steering. In this way, "Master" guarantees maximum agility and fully exploits the dynamic potential.

The new limited edition AMG GT R PRO is characterized by an improvement in driving dynamics, especially on the track. The experience gained with the AMG GT3 and AMG GT4 race cars has influenced its development. The improvements to motorsport can be grouped into four areas: suspension, lightweight construction, aerodynamics and appearance.

The new AMG coil spring suspension offers even more choice to adapt the configuration to the track. As in the professional motor sport, the driver can not only adjust the preload length of the spring mechanically, but it can also adjust the compression and rebound dampers. This is done quickly and precisely without tools via a click system with a built-in adjustment dial on the damper. The compression ratio is adjusted separately for high speed and low speed movements. This means that settings can be entered for slow and fast compression movements, as is common in motorsports. This allows to even more selectively influence the dive and body roll as well as the traction of the AMG GT R PRO.

The front axle is equipped with an adjustable torsion bar made of lightweight carbon fiber. Its rear counterpart is made of steel. It is also adjustable and can also save weight thanks to its hollow tube design.

The AMG GT R is already equipped with Uniball spherical bearings to the lower triangles of the rear axle. The AMG GT R PRO now has these bearings for the upper triangles. They are significantly more wear-resistant than conventional triangular bearings and, because of their design, have no play, which means that the pinch and camber do not change, even under heavy loads. As a result, the AMG GT R PRO can be controlled with even more precision.

The carbon fiber shear panel in the underbody of the rear part also contributes to the high precision of handling. This lightweight and rigid element stiffens the rear structure and adds even more stability to the hull.

The electronically controlled dynamic engine and transmission mounts have also been re-tuned to further increase agility, provide a high precision response and a clear return.

In addition to the many carbon fiber components, the high-performance ceramic composite brake system saves weight. And exclusively for the AMG GT R PRO, the brake calipers will be painted black with white letters. The lightweight AMG Performance Twin 5-spoke forged wheels are exclusively painted in titanium gray and feature a rim flange with a glossy finish.

The aerodynamic adjustments also improve the overall performance of the AMG GT R PRO. The redesigned front apron was fitted with two carbon fiber cops with transparent coating on the sides. The lowest cops pass almost seamlessly into the front splitter, which has been extended further and is held by small metal braces. They stabilize the front splitter at higher speeds. In addition, they are another visual tribute to the GT3 and GT4 motorsport models.

The ventilation slots in the front wings effectively ventilate the wheel wells and help reduce the lifting of the front axle. At the rear, a streamlined carbon fiber aerodynamic element located on either side of the wheel arch, elevates it vertically almost to the level of the taillights. The combination of all these measures significantly reduces the lift of the front axle without negatively impacting the aerodynamic conditions of the rear axle.

The active aerodynamic profile in the underbody, the AIRPANEL active air control system in the front apron and the large spoiler on the hatch, all known from the AMG GT R, are part of the standard specification. In addition, the rear spoiler is equipped with a spoiler lip that increases the force of support on the rear axle and now rests on milled aluminum brackets that emphasize the sport's proximity automobile.

The AMG GT R PRO does not just behave like a race car, it looks great too. Standard-size carbon I and II packs with front splitter, wings fins, side sill trim tabs, side mirrors, rear spoiler and high-quality clear-coated carbon fiber diffuser emphasize the sport's proximity automobile, just like the redesigned carbon fiber roof at lowered center.

This special status is also emphasized by the unique coating of the vehicle, with its race stripes on the hood, roof and hatch, as well as on the sides of the vehicle. This envelope is light green exclusively in combination with the paint finish magno gray selenite. For all other color variants, the stripes appear in dark gray. Optionally, the car's envelope can also be omitted completely.

Even before the world premiere, the new AMG GT R PRO had impressively demonstrated its potential for performance on the circuits: in early November, the AMG brand ambassador and AMG GT3 race driver, Maro Engel, completed the circuit of the Nürburgring North loop in exactly 7.04.632 minutes drive an AMG GT R PRO still disguised. This has greatly improved the previous time for the AMG GT R and has demonstrated the considerable potential of the current flagship model of AMG.

The lap record was measured accurately by the independent experts of "wige SOLUTIONS". An independent notary confirmed the lap time and indicated that the condition of the vehicle was in compliance with the regulations.
