The 75-year-old from Jackson, Wyoming, USA, "We were waiting in our boat for the hunting jaguar to appear for a long time. I saw the movement and started shooting.

"The capybara has managed to escape by diving into the water. She was injured only by a scratch on her nose.

"Jaguars have trouble catching a capybara because they can not swim.

"It was amazing to see the almost missed – the jaguar was very close but the capybara just did enough to escape."

The male capybaras are the largest rodents in the world, weighing 10th and originating in South America.
