You can crowdfunder a cross between a synthesizer and a watch

Synthwatch is a portable keyboard for making music on the go.

If you ever wanted to wear a synthesizer on your wrist, you're in luck: a synthesizer and a device called Synthwatch was launched on Kickstarter.

You will have to part with a minimum of $ 450 to get your hands on what looks like a Roland SH-101 paired with a 1980s Casio digital watch. For this you have a tiny keyboard from An octave with which you can play and record melodies, as well as a USB cable with 3.5mm audio jack to connect it to the speakers. This is certainly not a smartwatch, though. "If you're looking for a smart watch with a step counter and a heart rate monitor, you should go elsewhere," says Audioweld, the company that makes this device.

"How many times have you happened to have a melody in your head without being able to get rid of it or … express it one way or the other?", Explains Audioweld to Kickstarter to explain the merits of its Synthwatch manufacturing. "Our team was looking to develop a portable device that does not require heavy machinery or long cables, is easy to carry, user-friendly and at the same time professional, ready to be used outside or in a professional studio."

You can still use your phone to play music when you are moving, but some people may prefer to wear a bulky device around the wrist with a very small keyboard. Each in turn, I suppose.

If the Synthwatch reaches its target of $ 86,537 by January 1 (which is ambitious given that it reaches only $ 1,162 since its launch a few days ago), then it is eligible for several ambitious goals. At $ 100,000, an iOS and Android application will be developed; at $ 200k, the polyphony will be added; at $ 500k, you can bounce your composition on your phone; at $ 1 million, you can add your own sounds via the app; and $ 2 million, you can add sounds via Mac or PC.

If the campaign is successful, early contributors can expect to receive their Synthwatch in April 2019. However, as with all Kickstarter products, it is best to use judgment because they may experience delays or not be fully delivered. .
