Eleventh Namibian archers participated in the final field archery shooting on the field last weekend at the end of year shooting of the Windhoek Field Archery Club.

The very hot and humid weather made the weekend difficult. The archers from Luderitz and Windhoek clashed to end the year 2018 on a positive note.

Luderitz's Rene Rossler continued his run this year in the AMBU class (men's adult Bowhunter Unlimited), beating a record since 2010 in the field round with a score of 539.

JP Viljoen broke his own records in the Animal and Hunter series with scores of 544 and 505.

Liezl Schoeman also broke another record in the Hunter Round with a score of 511 in Adult Female Bowhunter Unlimited class (AFBU), while her daughter Lindie Schoeman broke her own record in the Hunter Round with 389 in the Youth category.

Jannie Meuwesen of Luderitz won the unlimited freestyle class for adults with Piet Zondagh of Windhoek finishing second.

Rene Rossler of Luderitz won the Unlimited Course for Adult Male Bow Hunters, followed by Martin Alberts of Windhoek.

Beanta Viviers of Windhoek won the women's freestyle class, followed by Charmain du Preez from Windhoek.

Matthys du Preez of Windhoek won the men's freestyle junior freestyle class, while JP Viljoen of Windhoek won the Young Adult Archery Class, an unlimited category.

Liezl Schoeman, of Windhoek, won the unlimited adult class of bow hunters, while Nanda Schoeman, of Windhoek, won the unlimited category of women's bow hunters.

Liezl Schoeman, JP Viljoen, Rene Rossler and Lindie Schoeman recently set new Namibian records in a contest held in South Africa last month.
