After the anime short Blade Runner 2049 Black Out 2022 realized by Shinichiro Watanabe, a new series of 13 episodes called Black Lotus Blade Runner is planned and will be fixed ten years later.
Whereas the amount of time between the famous "black out" (illustrated below) and the events of Blade Runner 2049it makes sense that we learn more about what has happened in the meantime.
As such, editing the series in 2032 makes a lot of sense and gives the creative team more latitude to come up with something interesting.
The creative team is impressive, as is the newly announced Ultraman animated series, both Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama will lead this news Blade runner series.
Product to Sola Digital ArtsShinichiro Watanabe is also still involved and will be a creative producer.
The inclusion of Aramaki here is also a cause for great satisfaction because he designed the new roulette car in Black Out 2022. I hope so that it will be released for the extra design of mecha for this new series.
In terms of distribution, Adult Swim will handle the English dubbed version of the series outside of Asia and Crunchyroll will discuss streaming around the world.
Considering how much Black Out 2022 was also short, I was waiting in part to see a series of cartoons to follow. However, the people involved in this project make me really excited that this could be something very special.
