It's getting ready …
Emily Eavis, Glastonbury's boss, revealed that Janelle Monae will star in the West Holts scene at this year's festival.
Eavis was speaking with Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music this morning, when she said the festival represented "about 90% of the way there" with the booking of programming and that "the 10% of confirmations are going on now".
Until now, Stormzy has been revealed as the first head of the main stage pyramid, with Kylie Minogue revealed for "Slot of Legend". Monae is now ready to successfully follow the success of his famous album "Dirty Computer" of 2018 with a huge appearance.
"We have Janelle Monae leading the West Holts scene," said Eavis. Speaking of other developments on the site, Eavis said that Arcadia was working on a new space and a brand new design, Block 9 is expanding in the southeast corner with a new facility "mind-blowing" "and that The Park has something new with a whole new area.
Speaking of improvements to the Glasto site, Emily Eavis said NME last year: "I think [in The Park] there will be some radical changes around and a little re-jig. Last night I was walking in the park. It was 2 o'clock in the morning. I was looking at the hill on all the sites. They all started banging and really going away. "
"I had this idea all of a sudden we could do [in The Park] it would be really radical, and thought "it would be really cool". It's not the kind of thing you could do in a sabbatical year, but two give us a little time. "
Emily added, "What's important about the festival is that it's run by the most dedicated team, who really did it all. Everyone is determined to make it as bright as possible. It is very moving when you think of the number of people who contribute to it. I think they'll all enjoy a break. "
Paul McCartney, The Cure, Lana Del Rey and Arctic Monkeys are some of the other acts that are circulating for Glastonbury 2019. Many fans have speculated that Lauren Hill may appear after Eavis commented on his show this week, while Mel B said the Spice Girls were also "in talks" with the festival.
