A mother who claims to have found several pieces of plastic in her daughter's dinner said she wants an apology from Fray Bentos.

30-year-old Charmain Jennings was about to give his daughter Violet a box of meatballs in sauce when she noticed the black plastic floating around him.

She said that her daughter had not eaten any of the pieces, but if she had eaten, she could easily have choked.

Charmaine, of Cleveleys, Lancashire, was informed that Fray Bentos officials would investigate, but she apologized.

She bought the box of 80 meatballs at Morrisons for her daughter on Wednesday, June 12, Charmaine said.

The mother, a full-time mother to her husband, said, "I saw them in the sauce. I asked my dad and he told me that they looked like screw cases. & # 39;

She said she was shocked but "relieved that I noticed them in time".

'They answered me fairly quickly about it.

"But I think they should be excused – because it could have been a lot worse."

Charmaine is adamant that she will no longer feed her daughter's Fray Bentos meatballs in the future.

She added, "No way. I will not buy any of their products anymore just to be safe. "

Baxters Food Group, owner of Fray Bentos, said, "The quality of our products is our top priority.

"Mrs. Jennings contacted us on June 12 about a can of Fray Bentos meatballs.

"We immediately requested that the foreign body be returned to us so that we can conduct a full investigation.

"We are waiting for the return of the product to be able to resolve this claim."
