Sem Nangolo, SWAPO district coordinator for the Ondangwa constituency, was sworn in Friday as an ordinary member of Ondangwa City Council.
Nangolo succeeds Leonard Negonga, elected last month as Oshana 's regional councilor for the Ondangwa urban district, following a by – election held in that country.
Ondangwa City Council spokeswoman Petrina Shitalangaho, who confirmed Friday the swearing-in of Nangolo in Nampa, said it was the fourth time that the coordinator had become a council member, after served between 2000 and 2015
"It will only be used until the next local and regional elections that will take place in the country next year," she said.
Nangolo was next on the 2015 Swapo candidate list for local government elections in Ondangwa.
Local magistrate Elvis Mwilima presided over the swearing-in ceremony. – Nampa.
