Police are looking for a suspect accused of cutting the private parts of an eight-year-old girl and raping her at the Satan Stocht farm in the Daan Viljoen area.
The incident occurred on Friday after Gervin Gowanab, a 20-year-old man, was entrusted to the care of two girls that he would have threatened to harm. One of the girls escaped following the threat.
Gowanab reportedly seized the eight-year-old girl and allegedly attempted to rape her.
Police spokeswoman Kauna Shikwambi said that when Gowanab had failed to penetrate her, he would have cut off the girl's private parts and raped her.
The victim was admitted to the central hospital in Windhoek in critical condition.
