The 41-year-old man who died in an accident on the Outjo-Otavi gravel road on Thursday, was identified as Smit of Wet Louw.
He was identified by parents.
The front-on The Namibian police spokesman in the Otjozondjupa region, Maureen Mbeha, told Nampa Louw that his car had been hit by a collision with a pickup
. Louw was heading for Otavi.
"It is alleged that one of these two vehicles was overtaking a truck and ended up hitting an oncoming vehicle," said Mbeha.
She added that visibility was low because of dust on the road.
The 65-year-old driver and 39-year-old passenger suffered minor to serious injuries and were taken to Otavi State Clinic for further medical care
Police investigations continue.
