A martial man hit with twenty years in prison for killing a girlfriend

A married man, Charles Michael Swartz (24 years old) was slapped with a 20-year prisoner in the Windhoek High Court last week for murdering his pregnant girlfriend, Sara van der Westhuizen

Swartz was hit by six years of assault and six months assault. by threat, while these two convictions will be served concurrently in his 20-year sentence.

Swartz had an abusive relationship with his girlfriend at the time and after being notified by a police officer, he then threw herself on her while she was carrying her child, kicking him in the belly and hit her repeatedly with a steel wire.

He was 19 years old at the time and was employed as a security guard in Mariental when he killed his girlfriend by stabbing her seven times at his mother's house.

The incident occurred in 2012.
