Alan Shearer fears that Mo Salah has been discovered – and insists that it is a major concern for the Liverpool title.

Some experts have questioned the shape of the Egyptian who failed to reach the peak of his first season at Anfield.

Despite 17 goals to his credit in the Premier League, legendary striker Shearer thinks it's now too easy to read.

The former captain of Newcastle and England said the Reds fans should be worried about his recent low-key performances.

He has now shot the whites for a fifth straight league match for the first time since January 2016, while he was a Rome player.

Mo Salah's form should be a big worry for Reds fans, says Shearer

Salah won the PFA Player of the Year title last season and Shearer said the best City player, Sergio Aguero, was explaining to him how.

Shearer, who has scored close to 300 career goals, writes in his column for The Sun that the 26-year-old's big dip can not be ignored.

"All the defenders know what Salah wants to do now," said the 48-year-old Match of the Day specialist.

"He wants to cut his right foot to get back on his left foot and he does not influence the big matches either as he was before.

The pandit believes that he was discovered this season

"Salah seems to lack confidence and shows some signs of nervousness, which is really worrying for the Reds at a crucial time of the season.

"Salah has so far 17 goals in the Premier League for this campaign, which of course remains a decent return.

"But he did not reach the peaks of last season, while he had already scored 24 goals in the first division. And it is the year that it really counts, with Liverpool to the title."

Shearer thinks that Aguero is about to steal the crown of the Egyptian king. The Manchester City striker is now leading the standings.

Shearer says Sergio Aguero is the best in the industry right now

Some Liverpool fans have called for his retirement, but manager Jurgen Klopp has only praise for the player.

But the fans quickly noticed that it was James Milner who had the responsibility for the decisive penalty – not the attacker.

"Mo also scored shots on goal, but when Milly is on the pitch, I think it makes sense for him to take it," said the Reds boss.

"Doubts, not really, but even Milly is a human being and he can fail, but he is very good."
