STOCKHOLM: An Air India plane carrying 179 passengers struck a building at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm on Wednesday before going to the door, but no injuries were reported, the police said.

"The 179 passengers were able to get off the plane by a moving staircase and then enter the terminal," the police wrote in a statement.

The cause of the accident was not known immediately, the police said.

It happened at 17:45 (16:45 GMT), about 50 meters from Terminal 5, the main terminal of international flights.

The pictures taken on the scene show the Boeing aircraft parked on the runway, the end of his left wing stuck on the side of a building.

Several police cars and fire trucks were parked next to the plane. According to the website of the operator of the Swedavia airport, the flight originated in New Delhi.
