The 30-year-old Quek was part of the English team that won the gold medal at the 2015 European Championship and the silver in 2013. She also won the medal of ########################################################################### Silver at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The day of the opening of the 2018 World Cup hockey Wednesday will see a double header. Belgium will play the inaugural match against Canada while India, its team, will play against South Africa later in the day.
Before the first Indian game, skipper Manpreet Singh said that his team had improved in recent years and that it would be a chance to do the same at the highest level.
India is placed with Belgium, Canada and South Africa in Pool C.
