The latest installment of the Call of Duty Black Ops series will be released worldwide on October 12, 2018.
The first Cold War Black Ops of the 1960s was developed and distributed by Treyarch and Activision.
The original game was well received by players and critics leading to the quick release of Black Ops II which covered the last years of the Cold War between 1986 and 1989 before continuing the story. more than 30 years later in the year 2025.
A further three years of this game in 2015, Black Ops III was released. The game took place in 2065, 40 years after the events of its prequel, in a world in the middle of the third Cold War and strongly influenced by climate change and new technologies.

This new sequel to Black Ops does not contains no single player campaign and will be centered on three distinct multiplayer modes: Specialists, Zombies and a new royal battle called Blackout
Activision is said to have advanced the release date in anticipation of the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar Games.
A beta version of the game will be available from August 3 Playstation 4 and one wee k later on all other platforms.

Three separate editions of Call of Duty 4: Black Ops are scheduled for version: Digital Deluxe Edition, Digital Deluxe Enhanced Edition and Pro Edition.
