The SX740 HS is the SX730 HS with a new image processor that gives it a 4K video support and some other tweaks
Canon
Canon has put the latest version of its imaging processor, Digic 8, inside last year's model of its most compact compact and – that's it! – You have the new PowerShot SX740 HS with 4K video recording and faster shooting with autofocus.
You can get it at the end of August for $ 400 (£ 369.99; Canon Australia does not list RRP, but the US price directly converts to around 540 Australian dollars.) [19659006] The company is late to part 4K, unsurprisingly; Panasonic and Sony have had 4K video in their consumer compacts for years. However, none of these companies have added it to a compact camera with over 30X zoom, so there is that.
The new processor also increases the speed of continuous shooting, with autofocus, from 4.6fps to 7.4fps, a non-trivial difference if you shoot an action, although Canon does not specify how many shots it's worth .
