CoW completes the Lafrenz loading center N $ 45m

The Electricity Department of the City of Windhoek (Cow) has completed the construction of the Lafrenz Load Center N $ 45 million in June this year.

The center will supply electricity north of Windhoek, namely the Lafrenz industrial zone and its extensions; Okuryangava; Okahandja Park; Ongulumbashe; Kilimanjaro; Babylon and One Nation.

The project was financed by the city's investment budget during the financial years 2016/2017 and 2017/2018. Construction began on May 11, 2016 and was completed on June 15, 2018.

"The scope of this contract includes, but is not limited to, the dismantling of the existing Lafrenz Load Center 6MV, 66 / 11kV; construction of a new 40MVA load center, 66 / 11kV which includes the supply and installation of a 66kV bisection bay; two new 66kV input bays; two new 20MVA transformer substations and the construction of a new load center building and the provision of a new 66kV control panel and 11kV panel, "said CoW's public relations office [19659005] Consolidated Power Projects Namibia (Pty) Ltd.
