Zenimax has big plans for Elder Scrolls Online in 2019. The outline of these plans leaked late last weekbut the devil – or, in this case, the dragon – is in the details and the official revelations of yesterday have long focused on unpublished details.
The leak revealed that Elder Scrolls Online tells an epic story through four quarterly publications from 2019. The big chapter of June takes place in Elseweyr, a new area housing the Khajiits, ESOThe playable breed of cats. The story is called "The Dragon Season" and presents, with the dragons, the beginnings of the Necromancer character class. It's the sizzle ruined by the leak. Here is the meat of the official revelation.
"Dragon Season" sees Elsewyr facing the double threat of one side of the newly released dragons and the other an army of necromancers led by Imperial Oil. Wraithstone, the first quarter DLC, includes two dungeons, Frostvault and Depths of Malatar. Each dungeon contains half of the Wraithstone tablet. Putting the Wraithstone at the wrong time in the wrong place ends up freeing the dragons. That's right, the plague of dragons is your fault.
Elsewyr is a vast area with distinct biomes of savannah, desert and jungle. As was the case with Murkmire and the Argonians, Elsewyr will be rich with the history and tradition of Khajiit. For example, players will be able to interact with a Khajiit species that looks like a talking cat, has a great affinity for magic and, unlike you, is smart enough not to have released dragons to his country. He will periodically deposit a unique artifact on Cyrodiil and warn all players of his location. Whoever picks it up wins a skill bar filled with great abilities. The Zone Guide is an interactive tool with a map showing the locations in an area, a summary of the history of the area and a summary of your current progress in the history and completion of the meta-realizations of the area.
