Update: We spoke to a representative of HonSon about the lists of products in question and were told that the company had based these products on "secret" information and that it was waiting for Nintendo to officially confirm the system before putting these products in production. HonSon "will then adjust the model to make sure it fits the console perfectly". The representative also confirmed that, based on the information received, the Mini Switch is (as its name indicates) "a little smaller" than the current version.

Original story: Despite the countless rumors circulating around a less expensive "Switch Mini" console in recent years, Nintendo again has not officially revealed that such a thing exists. As far as we know, this could be because do not exist, but these accessories designed specifically for such a console could be an essential ingredient of the Switch Mini speculation mix.

Believe it or not, we are talking about the idea of a Mini Switch since April 2017, just weeks after the publication of the real world transaction, after analysts had predicted that a mini -Variant would be launched in 2019. We are now in 2019 and these rumors have been amplified through more detailed reports from Nikkei and the Wall Street Journal.

We have now noticed that the Chinese manufacturer of game accessories, HonSon, had listed a number of accessories specifically designed for a Mini Switch. Some of the images in these lists have an old model of the console (so we will not pay too much attention to this), but if these products are in production ready for sale, it suggests that Honson may have received the product size . Preliminary information and diagrams for a new Switch console before the release.

The image presented at the top of this article, which you can see on Honson's site here, has particularly intrigued us. We can not remember seeing this image elsewhere, and the console design is slightly different from the previous models.

Of course, a list of retailers usually does not convince us that a new console is about to arrive, but it is common for new smartphone models to leak in advance because the cases and accessories appear online at an early stage. Accessory manufacturers must have accurate measurements early enough to produce cases in time for a product launch. This is what we see here? Although the console design shown in this image may not be 100% accurate, the case itself should certainly be the correct size.

In addition, it may be worth noting that in 2013, Nintendo unveiled the 2DS, a cheaper revision of the 3DS, in August. Two months later, the console was available for purchase in stores. It certainly seems possible that we are about to see a similar revelation and similar launch here.

We contacted HonSon and will update this story if we have new news.

But what do you think? Do you believe that a new switch is on the way? Do you like the idea of a Mini Switch? Fire away in the comments below.
