The mayor of ARANDIS, Risto Kapenda, was selected for the fourth consecutive year after an election that took place in the city council chamber on Tuesday.

Kapenda MP Irja Iipinge was also re-elected along with three other members of the steering committee: Councilors Tuhafeni Jairus, Onesmus Mangundu and Errikki Kapiye, Chair of the Executive Committee.

In his thank you speech, Kapenda congratulated the other members of the office that he called "formidable and unbeatable" for their commitment and hard work for the city.

"Despite the fact that we belonged to different parties, we managed to move forward and progress in one piece," said the mayor.

He added that this spirit would continue as the team entered a new year, highlighting the city's successful implementation of the projects over the past year.

"We have secured major implementation projects, including an international university hospital, two dried fish processing plants, a steel fabrication plant and the reopening of a garment factory, among others, which should all start in the first quarter of the next year. calendar year."

In his efforts to provide housing and housing for his residents, the mayor said the city council would continue to pay attention to the 10 extensions in terms of services and allocation to community members.

Ordinary Councilors Cecillia // Hoabes and Rudolfine Geises will continue to hold the same positions in 2019.
