In his thank you speech, Mr. Kazapua said that city council and management would increase their efforts to create a sustainable city, with the lack of housing and basic services in informal settlements remaining a priority concern and challenge.

Over the next year, he said, the city planned to allocate plots of land to residents of informal settlements and install pre-paid water meters in households, starting with retirees and seniors. inhabitants of the northern and northwestern suburbs. Kazapua said that the municipality of Windhoek would also give priority to providing water and sanitation to the inhabitants of underserved areas, building affordable housing in informal settlements and to the city. investment in renewable energies.

"However, to achieve the defined agenda, we will continue to need the active participation of our communities at all levels," he said.

The new Executive Committee includes Agatha Ashilelo and Tecla Uwanga, while Matrid Ukeva, Moses Shiikwa and Matheus Amadhila have been re-elected to the Executive Committee.
