Kurt Cobain shared his thoughts on hip-hop and said whites should not commit sexual violence in an interview recently released on September 20, 1991, four days before Nirvana's release. It does not matter.
The interview was posted by Roberto LoRusso, who had interviewed him when he was 21 years old and was working as a DJ for his CHRW university radio station in London, Ontario. In one description, LoRusso apologized profusely for the quality of the interview, which he described as "objectively terrible by journalistic standards," noting that "my questions were poorly worded because my research was incomplete and inaccurate.
"To Mr Cobain's credit, he was remarkably patient and kind, given my lack of preparation," added LoRusso.
Nevertheless, LoRusso's interview with Cobain reveals that the rocker discusses the battle of the early 90s against censorship and the arts and Nirvana's decision to switch from Sub Pop to Geffen Records. At 7:39 pm, LoRusso queries Cobain on a quote that he allegedly quoted in another interview, in which he said that whites should not rape because "the white man tore apart" black long enough ".
While Cobain wondered if he was drunk at the time, he adds, "I'm a rap fan but most of these songs are so misogynist that I can not even deal with them. I'm really not a fan.
