The Namibian Miners' Union (MUN) asked the government to intervene and investigate the layoffs in the mines.
Union finds reasons for mines to cut off employees not right, while lay-offs South MUN president Allen Kalumbu has called on the government to investigate companies that surrender guilty of such practices.

Kalumbu called on the government to investigate the layoffs and to ensure that the mines acted in accordance with the Labor Law.
MUN said that it is shocking to learn that some 180 employees will lose their jobs in September 1945.
The union warned that these layoffs would bring economic hardship for families.
