A former employee of Standard Bank Namibia intends to admit guilt on 147 counts of fraud for which he is to be prosecuted before the High Court of Windhoek.
Judge Jan Wessels informed Judge Christie Liebenberg during a court appearance of his client Charles Winston Manale (35) yesterday, Manale will plead guilty to the fraud charges he faces.
However, Wessels added that according to him, Manale money laundering should be prosecuted for 147 counts of fraud, or theft, and a charge of money laundering, also been charged with duplicating charges of fraud, and the issue will need to be debated at the Manale trial
which is an offense under the Prevention of Organized Crime Act.

An amount of more than 5.05 million Namibian dollars would have been fraudulently transferred into the accounts of Manale and his friend.
In a document filed in court, Manale admitted that he was employed as the chief probate officer in the bank's executors department in Windhoek during the period of the fraud. He also admits that between January 2011 and August 2013, he fraudulently paid a total amount of N $ 806,520 into a bank account of his friend Daniel Kauko Nehale, and that, after Nehale's death, he had fraudulently N $ 4.25 million. paid on his own bank account from September 2013 to December 2015.
Judge Liebenberg yesterday ordered that the case of Manale be assigned to Judge Dinnah Usiku, and that Manale should appear a first time before next Thursday.
Manale was arrested in January 2016 after returning to the police, who had been looking for him for about a month. He was held in custody following his arrest until the charges against him were withdrawn in October 2017, when a magistrate refused to grant a new adjournment to the court. State while the investigation was still not completed.
Manale appeared in court in April of this year, when the charges were reinstated.
He remains free on a warning from the court pending the start of his trial.
