State Enterprise Minister Leon Jooste said on Wednesday afternoon that the Namibia Airports Company had successfully passed a 10-day safety assessment by the International Civil Aviation Organization.
The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) is preparing to audit Icao since the beginning of the year in order to comply with international standards of civil aviation.
Jooste confirmed Wednesday afternoon to Namibia that he "has not identified any significant security problem" and that the status of Namibian airports has remained intact.
"Improvements are needed in some areas and this will need to be addressed, but this has not affected the outcome of the audit," Jooste said.
