The Namibian Police Service (NamPol) Were Not Highly Honored by the Prime Minister's Office Chief of Police Inspector General Sebastian Ndeitunga said during a police address at police stations in Katutura and Otjomuise today.

Police services are supposed to be fair and transparent to the public who is their client, Ndeitunga told police. .

"If, as a police force, we were a private company, we would not have made enough money and we would have been bankrupt a long time ago." Police officers must understand that we serve the public and that agents must behave in such a way as to show that they take care of the public. We have been sworn to protect and serve the country. Some agents are so corrupted that they want to be paid by customers who are the general public while they receive wages, "he said.

He adds that NamPol is also slow to finalize minor cases because of laziness and does not want to do his job professionally.

Ndeitunga also blasted the officers saying that some of them are just in the police for bribery.

"They steal files to be paid N $ 500 by suspects. We are aware of the fact that it lacks roles in police stations, which is unacceptable.I want the police to be professional. The police must speed up investigations because you are paid by the government to do the job, "Ndeitunga fumbles.
