Northern Kapana chefs set the bar high in the kitchen

The Northern Nedbank National Kapana Cook Off Preliminary Round that took place at Oluno Center in Ondangwa attracted 140 massive entries

At the event, Chef David Thomas of NamChefs Nedbank Namibia's director of marketing and communications, Gernot De Klerk, said the first round started with the challenge of preparing salsa, the most popular branch. which accompanies and complements an authentic Kapana namapian dish. The best salsa entrants progressed to the second round and were challenged to prepare their own braai kapana.

According to De Klerk, the competition has become very difficult because the talented candidates from Northern Namibia have given the judges a daunting task. because tastes and flavors were indeed exceptionally high in Kapana standards.

However, after the round of judging, the top five finalists from the North Round who will face Windhoek in the final will be announced. The finalists are Hileni Shipena, Martha Joshua, Vilhemina Shiwayu, Alina Gabriel and Selma Lenga

We applaud all the participants who entered and invite you to continue your Kapana trip.For our five entry-level finalists, continue to hone your skills and fine-tune your craft, we look forward to seeing you at action in Windhoek for the finals, " said De Klerk

The other preliminary dates for the contest are: Coastal: July 14, East: July 21, Central: July 28 and final (Windhoek): August 4. Registration forms will be available at the Nedbank Namibia branches in the country.
