Obsidian Entertainment seems to be preparing for a big announcement at the Game Awards next week, as fictitious countdown ads have begun appearing on its website.
Obsidian, known for his titles such as Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic II, Fallout: New Vegas and South Park: The Stick of Truth, tweeted a message saying, "Hmmm … everyone gets these ads on obsidian.net ???"
When you access the website, one of the two commercials, one from Aunt Cleo and the other from Spacer's Choice, displays with the text "Stay at the Listening for a special message … Live on December 6 at the Game Awards! " Below the text is a countdown that ends when the Game Awards begin next Thursday at 5:30 pm local time / 8:30 pm Eastern time.
When visitors click Ignore ads, they are redirected to a different second ad based on the fictional company being displayed. For Spacer's Choice, the second ad features a gun with the slogan "This is not the best choice, it's Spacer's Choice!"
As for Aunt Cléo, the second ad says "better than nature !!" and includes health items such as energizing ointment and mask skin cream for the face.
Although Obsidian Entertainment was recently acquired by Microsoft, they were also part of the private label label of Take-Two Interactive, which would publish games from five different studios, including an unannounced RPG from Obsidian. .
A little more than a week before the Game Awards, rumors about the ads are starting to arrive, including a possible Alien: Blackout Reveal and the rumor of a Superman game from Rocksteady.
