LAS VEGAS (FOX5) A historic win over UNLV's biggest rival will probably not be Tony Sanchez's last match as a head coach. The university announced that Sanchez would return for the 2019 season on Thursday.

UNLV Sports Director, Désirée Reed-François, issued a statement Thursday morning.

After evaluating UNLV's football program with interim president, Marta Meana, coach Tony Sanchez will be back for a fifth year at the helm of the Rebels. We hope that the 2019 football season will be successful, especially with regard to eligibility for competitions, the continuous improvement of the classroom and, as always, a positive experience as a student. ; student-athlete. We have invested more resources than ever in the Rebel football program and will continue to explore every avenue to make it competitive.

UNLV Football has suffered six consecutive defeats but finished the season with a win over rival University of Nevada – Reno after a 23-point deficit to recover the Fremont Cannon.
