Democratic Movement General Secretary Manuel Ngaringombe said he did not know how much the party would spend at its extraordinary congress next week.
Ngaringombe said the party had no budget estimated for the event, but that it would only be able to think about the expenses incurred after the event.
The politician made these remarks in response to a media question at an event held in Windhoek yesterday, where he also announced the postponement of the party's elective convention to be held from the first quarter of 2019.
"For now, I can not tell you how much money will be spent, but what I can say is that this money will be spent. We can only talk about it after the convention.
"The Treasurer General will do the calculations after the event and the public will be informed. We always provide you with a clear audited report on our finances, "he said.
The PDM will hold a special congress from 7 to 8 December in a pavilion outside Windhoek to amend its constitution.
Amendments to be considered include the party's gender quota, the coordination and management of its structures, and issues related to internal discipline.
Ngaringombe added that they would also discuss ongoing preparations for the postponed elective congress.
"The decision to postpone our elective convention until next year has been made necessary by our internal restructuring exercise across the country.
As you know, the PDM was renamed in November 2017 and, therefore, all members are asked to sign up under the new movement. Such a process is still ongoing, "he noted.
The party will also announce the names of people who will compete for leadership positions. The rules and procedures of the Elective Convention will be announced after the special meeting next week.
All management positions will be vacant and all members are free to challenge the position they wish, he added.
Ngaringombe said the extraordinary meeting will bring together about 400 delegates from all regions.
The party revealed in its audited financial report for 2017 that it had spent 527,000 Namibian dollars for the extraordinary congress held at the end of 2017.
Earlier this year, The Namibian indicated that the PDM operates with an annual budget of $ 10 million.
According to the report, this budget was made up of $ 5.7 million Nepalese parliamentary allowances and about 4.3 million NDA from other sources.
