Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg bring "Console Wars" to television.
Legendary Television has reached an agreement to develop Blake J. Harris's novel "Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defines a Generation" as a limited drama series. The book tells the behind-the-scenes story of how Sega battled Nintendo's juggernaut and revolutionized the video game industry.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts will lead with Mike Rosolio to write the pilot. Rogen and Goldberg will work under the Point Gray Pictures banner alongside Point Gray's James Weaver. Scott Rudin and Eli Bush, Julian Rosenberg of Circle of Confusion, Harris and Flying Penguin Pictures of Jonah Tulis, Rosolio and Vogt-Roberts will also be Executive Producers. Josh Fagen will supervise for Point Gray. No network is currently connected.
It was announced in 2014 that Rogen and Goldberg had signed to write and make a movie "Console Wars". Rogen then announced that a documentary version would be released before Goldberg and he began working on the film.
This marks the latest television projects of Rogen and Goldberg. Through Point Gray, they also produced programs like "Preacher" and "Future Man" from AMC for Hulu. They are also currently preparing "Black Monday" at Showtime and "The Boys" for Amazon.
Vogt-Roberts previously wrote "Kong: Skull Island" and directed "The Kings of Summer". He also directed the pilot of the FXX series "You are the Worst" and created and directed Comedy Central's "Mash Up" series.
