Six CCG members denied lease over alleged sedition

SIX leaders of the so-called Caprivi Concerned Group facing a charge of sedition, and two others, were denied tenure in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate Court.

They are planning to meet the supporters of the United Democratic Party (UDP) to discuss the Zambezi region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) from Namibia.

The accused are Edwin Samati, Chrispin Kakula, Event Linyando, Aldrin Mahulilo, Braster Kakula and Thomas Mulonga. The six faces also other charges, namely inciting to public violence and obstructing police officers in the performance of their duties.

Their case has been postponed to 20 September 2018 for further investigations and to allow them to apply for legal aid.

They appeared before magistrate Boyd Namushing and state prosecutor Esther Jaffet represented government
