Liam Payne also beat President Donald Trump for the # 1 male tweeter title

Taylor Swift was named Twitter's most influential user in 2018, having tweeted only 13 times during the year.

Brand watch, a social media analytics company, released its annual list of top Twitter influencers earlier in the day (Nov. 28). The pop star "Look what you did for me" came top of the women's list, getting an "influence score" of 98 out of 100.

Former rival Katy Perry finished second with 96 points, ahead of Kim Kardashian West, Demi Lovato and Ellen Degeneres.

On the men's list, Liam Payne has (somehow) been named the most influential tweeter – beating President Donald Trump, Justin Bieber and Barack Obama.

The final scores would be based on the true commitment created by the individual accounts, as well as on other parameters of Twitter.

With Swift, who tweeted for the last time in June, and Bieber who rarely publishes on social media, these global stars are "able to generate a huge commitment," according to Brand watch the data reporter Gemma Joyce.

Last month, Swift ended the political silence to support the Democrats in the mid-term US elections – though she chose Instagram on Twitter to urge her fans to vote.
